#diversity #edi #equalitymatters #hr #leadership isn’t just nice to do, it’s ESSENTIAL. Learn why the ‘business case’ for diversity is about fairness of opportunity and maximising all available talents .United States Marine Corps understands this. Watch this clip of the Commandant of #usmc explain this in such simple, effective and powerful language.Equality isn’t about mission statements and posters on a wall. It’s about getting it done and recognising the true costs of not doing it .#leadership is knowing ourselves and those we are responsible for as people and behaving accordingly.

Sales & Business Management Leader | Connecting technology with industry, for a more productive world!

I have been blessed beyond belief to be in an industry for more than 30 years, that I love. A lot of you know my history, but not many know my "story".I often tell people that my career has been focused on DRIVES and motors. I have had the privilege of working for the top companies in industrial automation and drive technology and I am proud to tell people of each of them. But more so, I tell people that each one was focused on one thing: adding value to serve our customers. I get asked why I joined Louis Allis, especially at this stage of my career (I'm not the youngest guy in the room). Well, I could talk about the legendary name Louis Allis has in motor technology. I could talk about how the opportunity to work with giants in the industry like our president, Greg Peterson, was too good to pass up. I could talk about a lot of things, but the main reason I chose to join Louis Allis is this: we are ALL about VALUE! Being a global leader in specialty motor design and manufacturing, producing motors for application specific needs, means that every motor we produce adds a specific set of values to our customers, based on what THEY value. It's not about what we think is valuable; it's about what customers think. This isn't my whole story, but it's a good synopsis. I now focus on MOTORS and drives, but the mission remains the same: value! Listen to Greg as he explains who we are and what we do. Louis Allis - it's about VALUE! #value #customervalue #motors

ATTENTION INDUSTRY!!! In the military, Warrant Officers play a critical role in technical expertise, leadership, and operational effectiveness within their respective armed forces. If your organization is looking for an “honest broker”, consider former Warrant Officers as your skilled advisors, navigating complex problems with fairness and objectivity. They will be the ones who challenge prevailing opinion for the sake of debate and intellectual exploration, to break the status quo mold and nurture growth.

🌟 **Lessons from Admiral McRaven: The Power of Making Your Bed Every Morning** 🛏️🇺🇸Admiral William H. McRaven, a retired United States Navy four-star admiral who served as the ninth commander of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is best known for his 2014 commencement speech at the University of Texas at Austin, where he shared insights on life lessons learned during Navy SEAL training. In his speech, Admiral McRaven emphasized the importance of starting the day with a simple task: making your bed. He described how the discipline of making one's bed every morning can set the tone for the day ahead, instilling a sense of accomplishment and order amidst life's chaos. McRaven explained that by completing this small task, individuals can begin their day with a sense of pride and motivation to tackle bigger challenges.McRaven's speech went viral, resonating with millions of people around the world who were inspired by his message of personal responsibility, resilience, and the power of small acts of discipline. His words have since been immortalized in his book, "Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life...And Maybe the World," where he expands on the lessons learned from Navy SEAL training and how they can be applied to everyday life.Overall, Admiral William H. McRaven's speech on making your bed serves as a poignant reminder that success often starts with the simplest of actions, and that by embracing discipline and determination, individuals can overcome adversity and achieve their goals. 🙂🛏️🇺🇸✨ **HOOYAH!** ✨#AdmiralMcRaven #NavySEALs #MakeYourBed #Discipline #Motivation #Success #Resilience #PersonalGrowth #MilitaryLife #Leadership #Inspiration

To understand the rank of Fleet Admiral, one needs to consider the context of World War II. The United States was working alongside Allies who had higher ranks like Field Marshals and Fleet Admirals, which were superior to American ranks. To ensure American senior officers were not outranked, the United States established the ranks of Fleet Admiral and General of the Army, both five-star ranks. In total, nine men held these ranks. For the Navy, they were Nimitz, Halsey, King, and Leahy. In the Army, the five-star generals were Arnold, Eisenhower, Marshall, MacArthur, and Bradley.

One of the factors of personal resilience is realistic optimism, or in other words, staying positive about the future but being realistic in planning for it. Former United States Navy vice admiral and aviator James Stockdale (December 23, 1923 – July 5, 2005), who, during the Vietnam War, was held captive as a prisoner of war for over seven years. During this horrific period, Stockdale was repeatedly tortured and had no reason to believe he'd make it out alive. Held in the clutches of the grim reality of his hell world, he found a way to stay alive by embracing both the harshness of his situation with a balance of healthy optimism.Stockdale explained this idea as the following: "You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end — which you can never afford to lose — with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be." In the most simplest explanation of this paradox, it's the idea of hoping for the best, but acknowledging and preparing for the worst.#resilience #optimism #paradox
